Pro boxer Ryan Garcia has been expelled by the WBC boxing organization
Ryan Garcia’s boxing career has taken another devastating hit. On Thursday, WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman announced that the 25-year-old boxer has been expelled from the organization following a racist, profanity-laced rant in which he used the N-word and referenced the Ku Klux Klan.
“Exercising my authority as president of the WBC, I am hereby expelling Ryan Garcia from any activity with our organization,” Sulaiman wrote on X. He continued:
“We reject any form of discrimination. I fear for Ryan’s well-being as he has declined multiple attempts for our help with mental health and substance abuse.”
The shocking announcement came shortly after Garcia purportedly used the N-word and declared himself the “KKK” during a conversation on X Spaces. The conversation, which included multiple voices, also discussed George Floyd, who was murdered by Minneapolis police in 2020.
Before the suspension was announced, Garcia took to X to explain his comments, claiming he was “trolling.” However, it was unclear if he was referring to the conversation on X Spaces.
“Also I was trolling I want all the killing to stop Humanity needs to stop killing people I love everyone sorry if I offended you,” he wrote in one post.
“Yall gotta understand pain, deep pain by every race Bruh im hurting Love yall have a great day,” he added in another.

It’s been a tumultuous year for the controversial boxer, who defeated WBC super lightweight champion Devin Haney at Barclays Center in April. However, that fight’s result was later changed to a no-contest after Garcia was suspended for one year by the New York State Athletic Commission for positive performance-enhancing drug tests that surfaced post-bout. Garcia was also fined $10,000 by the NYSAC.
Adding to his legal troubles, Garcia was arrested on June 8 for felony vandalism after allegedly causing $15,000 in property damage at the Waldorf Astoria in Beverly Hills, California, according to multiple reports.
Ryan Garcia, often known as “KingRy,” has made a significant impact in the sport with his explosive speed, powerful punches, and charismatic persona. Bursting onto the boxing scene as a teenager, Garcia quickly rose through the ranks with an impressive series of knockouts and victories, capturing the attention of fans worldwide.
His most notable achievement came when he defeated Luke Campbell in January 2021, securing the interim WBC lightweight title and solidifying his status as a rising star. Despite his undeniable talent and marketability, Garcia’s career has been marred by controversies and personal struggles, including suspensions for performance-enhancing drugs, legal issues, and public outbursts that have threatened to overshadow his accomplishments in the ring.
The latest scandal has cast a dark shadow over Garcia’s career, leaving many to question his future in the sport. For more updates on this and all things bodybuilding, strength sports, and fitness – stay tuned to the Generation Iron Fitness Network.
