X-treme X frame.

When it comes to building the ultimate physique it requires a level of obsession. In order to build your body into a machine, a physique worthy of merit, you have to workout hard as well as watch your diet. The five day split is the method that many bodybuilders utilize in order to build up their entire body week in and week out. Many believe that a total body workout will simply take too long for building adequate muscle in every important muscle group.

But that’s not how the old school bodybuilders got things done. In fact they emphasized a total body workout with high volume. Some classic bodybuilders had a three day split as opposed to the five day split that many modern day bodybuilders are accustomed to. Besides the method in which they trained, the ideology of the classic bodybuilder was also very different than what we see today, particularly in open weight bodybuilding.

The X frame.

To a classic bodybuilder and current day physique competitor building the perfect X frame is the ideal body type in order to look aesthetic as well as have adequate muscle. In order to get this X frame you have to focus on three specific areas of the body: the shoulders, the waist, and the legs or calves. Having well built shoulders, a slim waist, and powerful looking calves make the ideal X frame that will impress any onlooker.

Steve Cook is a physique competitor with a great deal of experience and powerful physique of his own. He trains with the same ideology as a classic bodybuilder hoping to create an X frame body type rather than just being heavily muscled in all areas. He has some great training tips for obtaining this body type that any athlete, bodybuilder or otherwise, can use to build a well developed X frame physique. Check out his advice in the video below.
