STRENGTH WARS: CAN A BODYBUILDER LIFT MORE THAN A STRENGTH ATHLETE?

Generation Iron Strength Wars Bodybuilding

Bodybuilding vs Strength.

For many people who look to improve themselves physically, bodybuilding can be a pretty simple endeavor. You wake up each morning, prepare your meals for the day, then hit the road. Maybe you go to work, eating your meals through the day until it’s go time. You hit the gym, work the body part you’ve chosen for the particular day, then kill it. It can be a pretty straightforward existence, one with it’s own challenges and summits to climb. But over time you get used to it, then what are you left with. I’ll tell you. Boredom.

It’s never been much of a secret that exercise, particularly the same exercises done consistently, can become tedious and boring over time. In reality, it doesn’t matter if you’re having an exciting time in the gym, that’s not the point anyway. The point is to build the best version of yourself, to see improvement with hard work and dedication. Keeping those two elements in mind you’ll be sure to make some great gains. Still, things can get boring.

.

So once you’ve reached that point what are you to do? It’s not like you’re going to stop working out, but you also want some incentive to building all this muscle, some reward for all the sacrifice. Some times getting massive and shredded just isn’t enough. Once that becomes apparent, challenging yourself becomes the next logical step.

Powerlifters don’t have these issues. They’re always looking to get stronger, to improve their form, to lift more and more weight. As an athlete it’s something to admire. You may reach a personal best, but after that you’ll be looking to break that number. Once that’s accomplished you’ll look to surpass that number, then again. If you’re a bodybuilder looking to wash away your boredom, taking up powerlifting could be a great cure. Hell, why not go the extra mile and challenge a strength athlete to some friendly competition. That’s what this bodybuilder did in the video below and it made for some pretty interesting results. Check it out on the next page.
