Ultimate Nutrition informed employees of their termination Monday morning with a sign upon entering work.
Ultimate Nutrition, a sports nutrition supplement manufacturer and distributor, shut down over the weekend with employees only finding out upon arriving to work on Monday greeted by a sign telling them they’d been terminated – the Hartford Courant reports.
At the time of this writing, Brian M. Rubino, the company owner, could not be reached for comment.
It is not clear how many people work at the company Ultimate Nutrition. One veteran employee that the Hartford Courant spoke to said there’s a mix of permanent and temporary workers and estimated the total number at about 150.
Rich Gaspari also posted an image of the sign in question on his Instagram account. Check the post out below:

Ultimate Nutrition RIP And just like that 200 people are out of a job! This weekend, supplement giant, Ultimate Nutrition, closed its doors for good. I’ve been watching them lately and had been remarking on the impossibility of the low prices they’ve been charging. I always say, you can’t discount your way into prosperity in an industry with such tight margins. People always doubt me when I talk about how tight the margins are in this biz and Ultimate, paying the ultimate price, is proof. This is an adapt and innovate industry. Changing with the times does not mean lowering your prices into bankruptcy. The key to success in the supplement biz is innovation, not discount. I’m sorry to see so many families left to struggle now, but Ultimate will not be the last. #toogoodtobetrue
