Terrick El Guindy believes Akim Williams can break out in 2025.
Akim Williams is gaining plenty of attention as the calendar prepares to turn to 2025. This is the year that he could take the next step, according to Terrick El Guindy. During a recent episode of OlympiaTV, El Guindy broke down Williams’ physique and claims he belongs in the first callout of the Olympia next year.
“Akim is one of the best side poses, side chest, and side triceps. Akim Williams is borderline Mr. Olympia.”
Williams finished 10th in the Olympia back in October. He made his return to the stage at the 2024 Arnold Classic and was a contender in the Men’s Open division. He finished sixth at the event before preparing for his next appearance. Williams was crowned champion at the 2024 Toronto Pro Supershow in June and punched his ticket to the biggest show of the year.
Williams continues to turn heads and receive praise from those who know what it takes to win.
Terrick El Guindy Breaks Down Akim Williams
Despite finishing 10th at this year’s Olympia, El Guindy believes Williams has even more in the tank. Next year, he could be in the first callout if he improves in certain areas.
“I think Akim Williams belongs in the first callout of the Mr. Olympia. That’s how talented I think he is.”

El Guindy went into what Williams does best and what he could improve upon. First, he began by praising the side and front of Williams.
“He is fantastic. He’s also very good from the front, front double biceps and front lat spread. The issue has been the back, back double biceps and back lat spread.”
The natural question of course is — “What does he have to do for the Mr. Olympia?”
“He needs to maintain the conditioning and the back poses. Contain the abdominal section. He’s a massive guy with huge arms, he’s got beautiful genetics, beautiful lines.”
Finally El Guindy believes Williams must keep his waist in and remain shredded. If he comes in with top-notch conditioning, Williams might be difficult to beat in 2025.
“It’s important for him, just as it is for Samson Dauda, to keep the waist in. Just come in conditioned and have a little more back thickness. I think Akim gets better every show he does.”
