Terrick El Guindy claims he spoke to Bumstead in Pittsburgh and believes he will make a return.
Classic Physique champion Chris Bumstead has been enjoying his time out of bodybuilding, sharing many updates on social media as he works toward new goals.
Could one of those goals be a return to the stage in a new division?
Terrick El Guindy claims that Bumstead will make a return to bodybuilding at some point but it will not be in Classic. The OlympiaTV host says that Bumstead will return in Men’s Open.
“I’m going to go on record here. He’s going to come back. I talked to him in Pittsburgh. Mark my words, Chris Bumstead is going to come back. He won’t come back as Classic. He’s going to come back in bodybuilding. Write it down.”
After winning his sixth Classic Physique Olympia title in October 2024, Bumstead announced that he would be retiring. He took the stage one final time during the EVLS Prague Pro in Men’s Open and finished as the runner-up. Now, he is taking on new challenges and goals while remaining as big as possible.

Will Chris Bumstead Return in Men’s Open?
This is not the first time that Terrick El Guindy has gone on record making this prediction. In February, following the Prague Pro, El Guindy spoke about this possibility once again and believes it will come in 2026 or 2027.
“Chris Bumstead started his career as a bodybuilder at the North Americans. He won the heavyweight class. He ended his supposed career with a second place. This man is young, he’s used to winning. He did not like losing. I think as time passes by, he’s going to say ‘I’m going to come back and compete as an Open bodybuilder.”
Chris Bumstead has spoken many times about doing an Open show if it was soon after the Olympia. That show happened to be in Prague last year and Bumstead made great strides in a short amount of time to compete in the biggest division. Following the competition, he shared that it was “arguably the most fun” he ever had competing.
