Bodybuilding Judge Terrick El Guindy Thanks Community For Outpouring of Support
Terrick El Guindy has shared an emotional message thanking the bodybuilding community for the overwhelming support he and his family have received following the tragic death of his six-year-old son, Preston.
Preston El Guindy passed away following a tragic accident on Sept. 19, just days before the 2026 Olympia Weekend. The California Highway Patrol investigated the incident, with a spokesperson telling the Los Angeles Times that the available evidence pointed to an accident with no indication of foul play.
El Guindy, a longtime figure within the IFBB Pro League and Olympia community, has received an outpouring of condolences from throughout the bodybuilding world in the days since.
Now, El Guindy has personally responded to that support.
Terrick El Guindy: ‘You Have No Idea What Those Words Have Meant For Me’
In an emotional video shared on social media, El Guindy thanked those who have reached out to him and his family during an unimaginable time.
“I have received thousands and thousands of messages from all over the world of people sending me love, support, and strength. I wanna thank you from the bottom of my heart. You have no idea what those words have meant for me.”
El Guindy then extended a deeply personal invitation to members of the bodybuilding community who encounter him at future events.
“If you see me at a show, if you see me anywhere, please come see me so I can give you a hug, and I can thank you for giving me the strength in this moment.”
He closed his message by speaking about his wife and daughter and making clear that Preston will remain a part of their family forever.
“My wife, my daughter, and I will have a wonderful life,” El Guindy said. “We are very thankful, along with Preston, that you are with us. Thank you.”
The response to Preston’s passing has extended throughout the bodybuilding community. Athletes, officials, media members, and fans have offered condolences and messages of support to El Guindy and his family.
During Olympia Weekend, the tragedy was also acknowledged publicly as the bodybuilding world rallied around one of its longtime figures.
