Per Sources The Rock and Dany Garcia’s Athleticon Postponed Until 2021

The Athleticon has been put on hold.

It appears that another major fitness sporting event has been postponed. Sources close to Generation Iron say that the inaugural Athleticon event has been postponed to 2021.

The 2020 Olympia was recently postponed until December as the global health crisis has forced many events to be pushed back. Athleticon has also decided to make this very tough decision. While Athleticon has yet to establish itself as the show to rival the Olympia, this set back will certainly affect the trajectory of the promising show.

The event is the brainchild of Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Dany Garcia. Much like the Arnold Sports Festival, Athleticon is set to put on multiple different events. The much-anticipated event will not only feature bodybuilding competitions, but it will also have other sports and fitness activities center stage.

The show gained even more momentum when Phil Heath signed with Dany Garcia as his new manager. It sparked speculation that the former Olympia champion would compete at Athleticon.

Now that the show has been postponed, the world will have to wait even longer to see if the Athleticon will truly be the event to rival the Olympia. While this may be a bit of a setback, there could also be a positive spin to these circumstances. It gives The Rock and Dany Garcia even more time to make some solid preparations and potentially make the show even bigger in the wake of this harrowing world crisis.
