Was This The Ultimate Mr. Olympia Battle Of All Time?

Strength Wars Movie

A life changing battle.

The 2015 Mr. Olympia competition is right around the corner. We’re just about 8 days out from the most improtant bodybuilding meet of the year. The competitors have been hard at work during the off season and hoping to have a chance at glory by capturing the bronze Sandow and toppling the king of the Olympia stage, Phil Heath. It’s certainly a tall task as the champ has been looking more impressive with every passing day leading into the event.

“The Gift” has laid claim to the title of the best bodybuilder in the last few years and it seems like he isn’t ready to let that title go anytime soon. But like many of the dominant champs in the sport, it would seem that one of Phil’s best showings was at the beginning of his title reign.

At the time, then champion Jay Cutler was considered the top dog in the sport. Having triumphed over the man that many consider to be the greatest bodybuilder of all time, Ronnie Coleman, as well as avenging his loss to Dexter Jackson, it looked as if Jay Cutler was poised to dominate the bodybuilding world for years to come. But contenders like Heath and Kai Greene were waiting in the wings for their opportunity to assert themselves as the greatest in the world.

Nothing highlighted that point more than the 2011 Mr. Olympia competition that featured Phil Heath taking on Jay Cutler in the final pose down. It would prove to be a life changing event for both Heath and Cutler, ushering in a new era of hungry contenders. But the win wouldn’t come easy as Cutler remained in tremendous form.
