Tom Hiddleston has used a specific style of training to stay in shape.

Actor Tom Hiddleston has use fitness to prepare for many roles over the years. He became known as Jonathan Pine in The Night Manager, maintaining a lean physique. Now, at 44 years old, Hiddleston remains active in the gym and uses a specific style of circuit training we will detail in this article to keep his physique in the best shape possible.

Who is Tom Hiddleston?

Tom Hiddleston, born in London, burst onto the scene 15 years ago as Loki in Thor. He would go onto feature the same character in the Disney+ series Loki from 2021-23. The British actor went from the stage to film in 2007 in Unrelated and would star in the 2010 film Archipelago as well. Hiddleston continued to grow in stature and be featured in bigger roles. In 2011, Hiddleston was nominated for the BAFTA Rising Star Award, which was the same year he played F. Scott Fitzgerald in Midnight in Paris. Hiddleston has been featured in Kong: Skull Island and the BBC One series The Night Manager.

Tom Hiddleston Uses Circuit Training To Stay In Shape

Tom Hiddleston has been working to build a physique of a former soldier. This comes with plenty of training and movement, which Hiddleston prefers in the gym and in his roles. Hiddleston has worked with celebrity trainer Simon Waterson, who has created workouts to be timely.

“The workouts I designed were fast and efficient. The sessions contained all the crucial elements to portray the character both mentally and physically.”

Hiddleston has used his love of running incorporated into his workouts. Waterson has created workouts that feature a combination of strength and conditioning. It is primarily led by circuit training, including one specific workout that forced Hiddleston to complete one set of 30 different exercises during the session. Waterson has incorporated compound movements, bodyweight work, and conditioning.

Another factor in this workout is Waterson keeping Hiddleston’s running to a minimum.

“The baseline of my routine is running, because it keeps my stamina up and it keeps me on an even keel.”

Hiddleston has become known as an intense runner. He has competed in five ultramarathons since 2021. He has often ran a 10k daily to stay in shape but Waterson had to shut this down while he was preparing for certain roles.

“He’s a runner, he wants to run everyday. It’s his form of escapism. To put on more muscle tissue, I have to literally say ‘you can’t go and run 10k every single morning because the muscle tissue I’m cultivating on a daily basis is being burnt off.'”

Wrap Up

Tom Hiddleston has made sure to keep his physique in the best shape possible during his career. He has used many forms of circuit training, along with running, to stay lean and mean for his roles. Along with the help of his personal trainer, Hiddleston has reached his physique goals.
