Tony Huge launches a brand new virtual bodybuilding competition called the Enhanced Generation Cup.
2020 has been a complicated year for the sport of bodybuilding. With much of the world stuck in some form of lockdown, many bodybuilding competitions have been postponed or cancelled. That’s why Tony Huge has decided to bring bodybuilding into the digital era with the Enhanced Generation Cup.
While there have been a small handful of digital bodybuilding competition already, Tony Huge and Enhanced aim to make the proceedings a bit different than your typical bodybuilding competition. The competition will hold such categories as Men’s Open bodybuilding, Physique, ‘Female Hottie Alert’, and Best Transformation.
So how does the Enhanced Generation Cup work exactly? As of right now there is an official website with a submission page detailing how to sign up to compete:
For submission, contestants must submit a video of at least 15 seconds but no more than 30 seconds showing front, back and each side.
*NOTE* Everyone doing submissions must be holding a newspaper with a date of August 15, 2020 or more recent. This will be used as the basis of the “before” competition physique. The video should show the contestants face and as much of the physique of the contestant as possible. Contestants are asked to wear at least boxer briefs, shorts, or underpants. Fully nude submissions will be disregarded.
*NOTE* video quality must be at least 720p. Low quality videos may be disqualified.
Anyone interested in competing from the safety at home can sign up at the Enhanced Generation Cup official website. The competition seems to be fully based on video submissions where a panel of judges will compare each video and decide on winners accordingly.
The Enhanced Generation Cup will debut the official “competition day” on December 19th. The competition will be in the form of a feature length video showcasing the competitors with commentary. During the broadcast the ultimate winners will be announced as well.
Speaking of winners – what exactly can the competitors expect in terms of awards? The Enhanced Generation Cup will hold a prize purse of $26,000. This prize money comes in the form of a combination of cash and free supplements. $17,000 in cash prizes and $9,000 in free supplements.
Tony Huge himself has put together a quick introductory video explaining the competition and what to expect in the coming months. The competition is accepting applicants from across the globe. Tony Huge’s main dream is to hope that this competition provides an outlet to the hundreds of competitors who were unable to compete due to IFBB/NPC cancellations.
While this will in no way be a IFBB sanctioned event, it certainly sounds like it will be an entertaining way to enjoy the passion fans have for bodybuilding at time when competitions are in short supply.
