Travis Ortmayer performs a heavy, unique deadlift.
When it comes to building functional strength there’s no better endeavor than strongman training. Strongman athletes are tasked with lifting heavy objects, which seems pretty self explanatory for a strength sport. But with every event competitors are tasked with lifting the most awkward objects that you could think of. From atlas stones to the keg toss to the farmer’s carry, the events are all designed to provide the most difficulty for an athlete to lift.
So when strongman athlete Travis Ortmayer decided to take on the Jefferson deadlift, it should come as no surprise.
The Texas strongman took on the awkward deadlift variation lifting a massive 705lbs. Take a look at the strongman performing the exercise.
I’ve now pulled 705 pretty much any way you can do it… and no I won’t try it behind the back because that’s just stupid ?
This week is all about keeping things light and enjoyable, so today I decided to have fun with some Jefferson Deadlifts. @massenomics would be proud…
