The bodybuilding brothers break down their massive daily diet, from steak and eggs to protein mac and cheese and late-night protein shakes
The Tren Twins are eating big in their pursuit of even bigger gains. In a new YouTube video, bodybuilding brothers Christian and Michael Gaiera took fans through a full day of eating while bulking, revealing the foods, meals, and supplements fueling their muscle-building efforts.
The brothers are known for their intense workouts, massive physiques, and entertaining personalities. However, their latest video offered a closer look at what happens outside the gym.
From a calorie-heavy restaurant breakfast to homemade protein mac and cheese, salmon, steak, and late-night protein shakes, the Tren Twins showed that bulking doesn’t have to mean eating plain chicken and rice all day.
They also revealed their differing approaches to nutrition, with one brother estimating his daily intake at approximately 4,000 calories.
Tren Twins Full Day of Bulking: Every Meal and Food Revealed
Meal 1: Steak, Eggs, Potatoes, and a Massive Breakfast
The brothers began their day at one of their favorite breakfast restaurants, where they ordered a variety of foods to kick-start their calorie intake.
Foods mentioned or shown during breakfast included:
- Steak
- Whole eggs
- Egg whites
- Pancakes
- French toast
- Chicken enchilada
- O’Brien potatoes
- Sourdough toast
- Fresh fruit
- Cinnamon roll
- Coffee
The breakfast alone was estimated at approximately 800 calories before accounting for an additional cinnamon roll, which the brothers joked could add another 600 calories.
“I ain’t counting the cinnamon roll,” one of the brothers admitted. Something probably repeated by millions in airports every day.
The meal demonstrated how quickly calories can accumulate during a bulk, particularly when restaurant portions, butter, and baked goods are involved.
Meal 2: Homemade High-Protein Buffalo Mac and Cheese
For their second meal, the Tren Twins headed home to prepare a more bodybuilding-focused dish.
Rather than settling for plain chicken breast, they created a homemade protein-packed macaroni and cheese.
Ingredients included:
- Gluten-free macaroni noodles
- Fat-free cottage cheese
- Low-fat cheese
- Nutritional yeast
- Shredded chicken
- Buffalo sauce
The ingredients were blended and combined to create a creamy, high-protein meal that one brother estimated at approximately 800 calories.
He explained that enjoying food is an important part of maintaining a successful bulk.
“How the f*** you gonna grow if you don’t even want to eat the food?”
He also emphasized the importance of dietary variety, explaining that he prefers incorporating salmon, beef, and other foods containing fat rather than relying exclusively on bland chicken breast.
The brothers also discussed sweet potatoes as a carbohydrate source, highlighting their fiber, potassium, and micronutrient content.
Meal 3: Salmon, Potatoes, Egg Whites, and Pre-Workout Carbs
The third meal came ahead of their evening workout, with the brothers planning to train around 5 p.m.
Their pre-workout food discussion included:
- Salmon
- Potatoes
- Sweet potatoes
- Egg whites
- Tortilla
- Approximately 60 grams of carbohydrates for one brother’s meal
The twins disagreed over the ideal amount of carbohydrates before training, with one arguing that 60 grams wasn’t nearly enough.
“120 grams of carbs before your workout,” one brother suggested.
They also debated the benefits of potatoes compared to white rice.
One brother explained that he preferred potatoes because of their fiber, potassium, and ability to provide greater food volume.
“I haven’t eaten white rice once on this bulk,” he declared.
The brothers also praised salmon for its omega-3 fatty acids, which contribute to overall health.
During the meal, they discussed whether high-volume foods could contribute to stomach bloating, particularly for competitive bodybuilders.
Despite their disagreements, both emphasized getting sufficient protein and carbohydrates to support training.
Tren Twins Hit the Gym Before Their Post-Workout Meal
After allowing their food to digest, the brothers headed to Filthy Fitness for an intense shoulder workout.
They explained that they preferred training later in the evening because of the gym’s lighting and equipment setup.
The workout included multiple shoulder exercises and supersets before they headed out for their post-workout meal.
Meal 4: Steak, Rice, Lamb, and Mediterranean Food
Following their workout, the twins stopped for Mediterranean-style bowls, providing another opportunity to replenish calories and protein.
Foods ordered or discussed included:
- Steak
- Lamb
- White rice
- Tzatziki sauce
- Yogurt-dill sauce
- Additional shared food estimated at approximately 250 calories
One brother estimated his bowl contained less than 200 grams of rice and less than 165 grams of steak.
He also described his yogurt-dill sauce as containing approximately 35 calories.
Interestingly, the brothers returned to white rice despite earlier criticism of the carbohydrate source.
The meal wasn’t particularly large by their standards.
“Yeah, this is half a meal. I’m gonna need to eat very soon again after this,” one brother admitted.
Their post-workout approach was relatively flexible, with the twins explaining that they sometimes prefer a large meal and other times eat something smaller before having additional food later in the evening.
Meal 5: Ground Beef and Protein Shakes Before Bed
The final meal came late at night as the brothers attempted to finish their daily protein requirements.
Foods included:
- Ground beef, with an estimated 90/10 or 85/15 lean-to-fat ratio
- Whey protein isolate
- Milk or a low-calorie milk alternative
- Water mixed into the protein shake
One brother discussed having two scoops of protein powder to ensure he reached his daily target, while another prepared approximately one and a half scoops.
They also discussed eating a substantial portion of ground beef after feeling that their earlier restaurant meal hadn’t provided enough protein.
By this point, however, the sheer volume of food was becoming uncomfortable.
“My tummy just ain’t feeling too good. Honestly, feels horrible,” one brother admitted, blaming the heavy breakfast for some of his discomfort.
How Many Calories Do the Tren Twins Eat While Bulking?
Near the end of the video, the brothers reviewed their daily nutrition totals.
One revealed that his tracking app showed approximately:
- Protein: 250 grams
- Carbohydrates: 260 grams
- Fat: 92 grams
Based on standard macronutrient calorie calculations, those figures equal approximately 2,868 calories.
His brother, who hadn’t tracked his food as closely, estimated consuming around 4,000 calories.
The numbers were self-reported estimates rather than independently verified totals, particularly since the brothers didn’t weigh or log every food consumed.
The twins also acknowledged that they have different approaches to measuring portions. One emphasized that years of training had helped him estimate quantities without needing to weigh every ingredient.
Supplements Used During the Tren Twins’ Bulk
Along with their meals, the brothers discussed several supplements and hydration products used throughout the day.
These included:
- Whey protein isolate
- Pre-workout supplements
- Glucose disposal agent (GDA) supplements
- Electrolytes
- Glutamine
- Apple cider vinegar
- Coconut water
- Glutathione
- Magnesium
- Potassium
- Calcium
- Sodium
The brothers promoted products from their Feral supplement line and claimed certain formulas could improve carbohydrate utilization and digestion.
However, claims that GDA supplements direct carbohydrates into muscle instead of fat are not established guarantees. Similarly, sea salt is not inherently superior to table salt for blood pressure management.
For most lifters, adequate calories, protein, consistent resistance training, and recovery remain the foundation of muscle growth.
Tren Twins Explain the Difficulties of Bulking
Despite their enthusiasm for eating, the Tren Twins admitted that consuming large amounts of food every day isn’t always enjoyable.
One brother complained about stomach discomfort, feeling overly full, and the physical challenges of carrying additional body weight.
“If I miss a meal, I feel like s***. If I eat, I feel like s***,” he joked.
Still, the brothers remain committed to adding size while maintaining their muscular physiques.
Their latest full day of eating demonstrates how they combine traditional bodybuilding staples like steak, eggs, salmon, potatoes, and protein shakes with more enjoyable foods such as pancakes, cinnamon rolls, and buffalo mac and cheese.
For the Tren Twins, the goal is simple: eat enough to grow, train hard, and make the process enjoyable enough to keep doing it.
