A Respected Career Inside the Octagon
Nascimento began his professional MMA career in 2011 before earning his opportunity on Dana White’s Contender Series in 2018. Although he dropped a narrow split decision in that appearance, he eventually signed with the UFC and made his Octagon debut in 2021.
Competing in the flyweight division, the Brazilian compiled an overall professional record of 22-7 while going 4-2 inside the UFC. A Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt known for his submission skills, Nascimento recorded 15 career victories by submission and earned two UFC Performance of the Night bonuses during his tenure with the promotion.
His final appearance came on June 20, when he lost a closely contested split decision to Mitch Raposo at UFC Fight Night in Las Vegas.
Charles Oliveira Leads Emotional Tributes
Nascimento trained at the renowned Chute Boxe Diego Lima gym alongside former UFC lightweight champion Charles Oliveira, who shared one of the most emotional tributes following the announcement.
“Today I lost a brother, a guy who was truly one of a kind, and the pain is unbearable.”
Oliveira added that he was grateful to have shared so many moments with Nascimento throughout their careers, remembering him not only as a gifted fighter but as an exceptional person.
Fellow Brazilian UFC standout Caio Borralho also reflected on Nascimento’s character.
“One of the most kind fighters that I’ve ever met! Polite, good energy and always in good spirits! He will be missed.”
UFC correspondent Evelyn Rodrigues echoed those sentiments, describing Nascimento as “one of the kindest souls I’ve ever had the privilege of knowing through MMA.”
MMA Community Mourns a Beloved Teammate
While fans will remember Allan Nascimento for his slick submission game and entertaining performances inside the Octagon, many of the tributes following his death focused on the type of person he was outside of competition.
His sudden passing at just 34 years old has left teammates, opponents, and fans across the MMA world grieving the loss of a respected athlete whose career, and life, ended far too soon. The UFC and members of the combat sports community continue to offer condolences to Nascimento’s family, friends, and teammates during this difficult time.
