Jumping into the other side…

It’s no secret that bodybuilding and crossfit just doesn’t mix. Just earlier this week we’ve touched on the subject discussing why this fitness craze will eventually peter out and go the way of the dinosaur. Don’t get us wrong, crossfit is a pretty daunting, demanding kind of physical activity that pushes your body to the brink. If it wasn’t for all the poor form and ridiculous challenges that it requires, you’d probably hear us praising crossfit for it’s extreme competitions.

If you asked us if a bodybuilder would ever consider doing crossfit, more than likely the answer would be a resounding no. The risk of injury involved, the emphasis on burning fat rather than growing muscle, those elements alone would probably turn off any bodybuilder from considering crossfit as a plausible choice to fit into their routine.

.

Well, there looks like there’s at least a couple of people in the bodybuilding industry have properly put that notion to bed. Dana Linn Bailey has already shown that she’s willing to branch out and experience other fitness opportunities outside of bodybuilding. The thing about Dana is that she loves to challenge herself as evidenced by her time on American Ninja Warrior. She loves new experiences and that same mentality is present in her husband Rob.

So maybe crossfit isn’t the best endeavor to throw yourself into, but seeing bodybuilders like Dana and Rob give it a shot makes you wonder; if it’s done with control and proper technique, could crossfit be something that should be added to your routine? Probably not, but it wouldn’t hurt to try it out, which is exactly what Dana Linn and Rob Bailey did.
