No big deal.
When it comes to making some serious gains there’s no doubt that eventually you’ll have to start lifting heavy. It’s been mentioned before and now I’ll say it again, if you want to be a serious bodybuilder and get some quality muscle growth then it’s best to start off by lifting for strength as opposed to just aiming to get shredded right out the gate. Why? Well, there are a number of reasons.
For one, you can focus on form and getting things right before getting really serious about building muscle. Also, when you hit that dreaded plateau that almost all bodybuilders experience you’ll have a foundation of lifting heavy that will transfer over to upping the weight and in turn upping your muscle growth.

But not everyone wants to be a bodybuilder. Some people fall in love with the idea of just getting stronger rather than focus on aesthetics. Maybe they’ve always been this way or maybe they started out wanting to be aesthetic, realized they didn’t have the genetic potential and moved on to other avenues of the lifting culture. Then there are those who have a passion for being heralded as the strongest athlete in the world.
Just like bodybuilding it takes a single minded focus, a drive that most people aren’t born with. George Lee is one of those people. He has a passion for getting stronger and lifting heavy. He already posseses great strength and ability, but his desire to be one of the strongest men is history constantly drives him to seek perfection and make considerable strength gains. In the video below the powerlifter performs an 800 lbs deadlift not once, not twice, but for eight reps! Check out the incredible feat below.
