Fake weights seem to still be running rampant on Instagram fitness accounts.

Over the past few years, fake weights have become a major concern among fitness enthusiasts. With YouTube and especially Instagram bringing us the ability to follow and watch so many fitness stars, trainers, athletes, and influencers – it also attracts people who are looking to get “insta-famous” at any cost. This includes using fake weights to wow people who think it’s all real, get lots of subscribers, and start getting sponsorship deals.

This makes it hard to trust anything we see on the internet now as fitness consumers and the problem doesn’t seem to be going away even as more people start calling out fake weight users.

Case in point, the latest video by our content partner Williams Fitness showcases that the fake weight trick is alive and well on Instagram and points out who he thinks might be the new queen of fake weights. Check it out above!
