Phil Heath plans on coming in smaller… for a good reason.

Phil Heath is a seven time Mr. Olympia champion – and therefor one of the most Olympia crowned bodybuilders of all time. That puts him up there with the likes of Dorian Yates, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and soon… he will tie with Ronnie Coleman and Lee Haney. But that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have his detractors. This is mostly due to a stomach problem he has been having for the past two years. This is something bigger to all of bodybuilding, the “bubble gut” issue of mass monsters even lead to the creation of the Classic Physique division. But for some reason people are the hardest on Phil Heath. Guess that’s the price of being the champ.

But Phil Heath knows about these people’s criticisms. That’s why in his latest video, Phil addressed his past gut problems and promises he will never show up like that again. And in order to do that, he’s chasing less size this year and focusing mostly on his conditioning and aesthetic. That shouldn’t be hard for him to do. He is a genetic beast after all. But it will be exciting to see if Phil really does show up better than he has ever looked in his career. We’ll know in just about three weeks – so stay tuned!
