Forget about 2020, who will be the next reigning Mr. Olympia down the road?
The 2020 Mr. Olympia will certainly be an exciting one. The past two years of the Mr. Olympia have been full of shake ups. First in the form of Phil Heath being defeated by Shawn Rhoden only to be followed by Brandon Curry’s win at the Olympia after Phil Heath, Shawn Rhoden, and Big Ramy all didn’t compete. That sets us up for the 2020 Mr. Olympia to be a true fight to the finish. Assuming that Shawn Rhoden, Phil Heath, and Big Ramy all return – we could have either Phil, Shawn, or Brandon fighting for the glory of the Sandow trophy. That’s assuming someone like Big Ramy, William Bonac, or even another wild card doesn’t sweep in and shake things up again.
But what about the more distant future? Who are the athletes competing now that will one day become the Mr. Olympia champions of the next generation? The champions that reign in four of five years when competitors like Phil Heath are retired and no longer competing? That’s why content partner Williams Fitness ponders in his latest video. He picks two bodybuilders that be believes show the most promise to one day become massive Olympia champions and explains why by going through their career history up to this point and breaking down their physiques.
