Wes Watson was recently arrested in Miami following an altercation in the gym.
Fitness entrepreneur Wes Watson was arrested on aggravated assault & battery charges on Thursday afternoon.
Many eye witnesses reportedly saw Watson being “put into the back of the car” in Miami stemming from a fight that broke out at Elev8tion Fitness Miami in January. Jon Bravo Films reported that Watson was still in custody as of Thursday night and there is no information on bail.
Shortly after the assault, it was unclear if Miami police had footage of the incident as it was being framed as self defense by Watson. As more details continued to be released, it showed a four-on-one attack by Watson and others on one man. It was reported that the original video showed just eight punches being thrown but it was actually more, including the use of weapons.
“First there were 2 strikes to the face with the weight belt, over 54 punches landed to his head, a dumbbell used to strike and over 5 soccer kicks to the head by Wes Watson and his crew. He was being held down by Wes’s crew for nearly over 2 minutes while the beating occurred.”
There will be more issues shared as they come out following Watson’s arrest.
The Goob Show Avoids Comment On Wes Watson
John Dorsey has become one of the most outspoken voices in the fitness industry that speaks his mind and remains honest about different issues. Dorsey, better known as Goob, recently launched a podcast with Generation Iron called The Goob Show.
Hosted by John Dorsey, better known as ‘Goob,’ alongside Generation Iron’s Vlad Yudin and Edwin Mejia Jr., the podcast will dive deep into the fight for transparency in fitness, calling out manipulation, dishonesty, and photo editing tactics used by influencers and industry figures.
During a recent episode of the podcast, Goob touched on the Wes Watson fight scandal and decided to avoid comment on the issue. Interestingly, Goob admitted that he had never paid much attention to Watson’s content, mainly encountering him through reaction videos. He also noted that Watson had seemingly preemptively blocked him on Instagram, likely to avoid potential scrutiny.
As for the overall reaction to the fight, Goob pointed out the absurdity of a situation where a group of 40-year-old men engaged in a physical fight over online beef.
“If I told you the story and then you asked the ages of everybody involved and I told you they were all like 40, you’d be like, what the f*ck? You’d be like, this has to be 16 year olds. Like you were reading some sh*t on like Reddit and you’re like, this has to be children.”
John Dorsey has made a name for himself by fearlessly uncovering unethical practices in fitness, from misleading transformations to outright scams. As a former competitive bodybuilder and the head coach of Goob U, he has guided countless athletes with evidence-based training and nutrition plans while using his growing platform to advocate for truth in fitness. His efforts have even led to major industry reform among influencers.
