[/wptouch] After upsetting fellow standouts Mamdouh “Big Ramy” Elssbiay and veteran Dexter Jackson at the EVLS Prague Pro, William Bonac has begun a nice streak of victories. Following up on his success at the Prague show, Bonac went on to win the Nordic Pro this past weekend, signaling to his fellow competitors that he has arrived as a major threat. But what took the judges so long to see William Bonac as a legitimate top five competitor? Truly, it’s anyone’s guess at this point. One theory is that his 225 lbs competition weight makes him look diminutive compared to the other competitors in the open weight division. With many of his fellow open weight competitors cutting down from upwards of 275 lbs, William Bonac really can’t shine based on his size. Instead it’s his solid definition that will have to get him through. If he wants to continue to put together victories he’ll want to focus more of his attention on his strong suits rather than try to be a mass monster. As long as his proportions are still solid, we’re likely to see him close in on the upper ranks of the division and eventually place within the top 5 with consistency.
