WITH FERGUSON OUT – WHO’S GOING TO WIN THE KHABIB NURMAGOMEDOV LOTTERY?

Khabib

With all the recent injuries going on for main event cards, this should come as no surprise. Lightweight contender and rising Star Tony Ferguson has pulled out of UFC on FOX 19 due to fluid in his lungs.

With no love lost between these two the question that remains is who will take his place? With Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone currently at the top of the bidding war it looks like Rafael “Dos” Anjos will be might A@@ed  out. But who knows, with the UFC these days the unlikely pick is often the safest. Wouldn’t be surprised if they offered it to Conor Mcgregor – you think I’m joking…

What do I think? As far as big money fights, I’m going to have to go with cowboy. Though not a MAJOR needle mover, he’s the fan favorite, and with the spin of “another quick turnaround from wild cowboy cerrone” it’ll get some noggins. However, it’s rumored that Cowboy won’t take the fight unless he can still fight Patrick Cote on UFC Fight Night 89 on June 18th, which should be doable unless he sustains major injuries. If you’re looking at it from a fight fan point of view then it’s gotta be Rafael Dos Anjos. RDA wants his vengeance for his only recent loss in 4 years which came by the hands of “The Eagle” – judging by the way he’s been fighting recently he certainly deserves it.  The outcome could certainly be different seeing as Khabib Nurmagomedov’s long layoff and RDA’s rise to prominence has so perfectly coincided. I say they save this fight for a full promotion as they probably already had this in the cards a little further down the line. So if you’re forcing me to take a pick I’m going with cowboy…final answer. Keep in contact for the most late breaking news and honest opinions here, at MMagenerationiron.
