2022 Portugal Pro Preview: Can Andrea Presti Repeat As Champion?

Portugal Pro

The 2022 Portugal Pro is set to take place on Sunday.

The 2022 Portugal Pro is scheduled for Sunday at Casino Estoril in Estoril, Portugal. This is the biggest show of the weekend and one that will handout qualifications to the Olympia for 10 different divisions. In the Men’s Open division, Andrea Presti will return looking for his second consecutive title at the event.

Not only is Presti back but there is a total of three competitors who finished in the top five in Portugal returning. Below, checkout a preview of some of the top competitors in Men’s Open, along with full rosters from the entire event.

Andrea Presti

Andrea Presti will likely be the favorite heading into this show following a strong start to the 2022 season. He has finished as the runner up in two shows — the New York Pro and Orlando Pro. Presti is also the reigning champion in Portugal. A victory would mark Presti’s second consecutive appearance on the Olympia stage and he would look to build off his performance back in October.

Tim Budesheim

Tim Budesheim has not competed yet this year after four performances back in 2021. This includes a runner-up finish to Presti in Portugal last year. Budesheim also finished third during the Europa Pro Championships last season. He brings a massive physique to the stage. It will be interesting to see the improvements that were made to this point. If Budesheim brings a more conditioned physique, he could contend for the title.

Petar Klancir

Petar Klancir made his return to the stage during the California Pro back in May. He brought an impressive build to the stage and finished as a top-five competitor. Klancir will focus on symmetry as he returns to compete in Portugal. He is considered a dark-horse competitor heading into the weekend.
