Hassan Mostafa wins the 2022 Puerto Rico Pro!
The 2022 Puerto Rico Pro took place over the weekend spanning from Friday, June 17th to Sunday, June 19th. San Juan, Puerto Rico hosted a three-day long event that handed out Olympia qualifications to 10 divisions around the sport. Once again, Men’s Open headlined the weekend. In the end, it was Hassan Mostafa who highlighted the weekend with a victory in Men’s Open.
Hassan Mostafa entered the weekend with hopes of getting back to the Olympia, where he finished 13th last year. Mostafa earned third place at this event last year and was the highest finisher to return in 2022. Mostafa made great improvements to his physique in the offseason and looked ready to compete on stage.
Maxx Charles has been extremely busy this season and was the biggest threat to give Mostafa a run heading into the weekend. He earned top-three finishes at the 2022 Indy Pro and 2022 New York Pro in back-to-back weekends. This has put him in position to possibly qualify for the Olympia using the points’ system if he is not able to win a competition. Theo Leguerrier also entered with an aesthetically pleasing physique and hopes of stealing a victory.
All other divisions were well-represented as well. Emanuele Rodriguez was able to pickup a victory in Classic Physique while Oswaldo Gonzalez won Men’s 212.
