2023 Scotland’s Strongest Man and Woman Results

The 2023 Scotland’s Strongest Man and Woman results are in.

The results for the 2023 Scotland’s Strongest Man and Woman are in. The event brought together twelve men and eight women as they battled for the title of strongest in Scotland. Both the men and the women each had to participate in a series of five events that tested their mettle.

2023 Scotland’s Strongest Man Placings

The men’s side was a tightly contested showdown that saw the top three jockeying for first. It was a close battle that could have easily seen any of the three emerge victorious. However, it would be Louis Jack who came out on top, narrowly beating out the competition to secure the Scotland’s Strongest Man title.

  1. Louis Jack — 54 points
  2. Chris Beetham — 53 points
  3. Callum Crozier — 50 points
  4. Stephen Jackson — 36 points
  5. Lee Walker — 32.5 points
  6. Connor Monaghan — 32 points
  7. Scott Milne — 29 points
  8. Liam Goldie — 23 points
  9. Peej Greenhough — 23 points
  10. Leon Patterson — 14.5 points
  11. Robert McMillan — 13 points
  12. Mikey Wilson — 4 points

2023 Scotland’s Strongest Woman Placings

On the women’s side things were far different however. There was a woman who was clearly superior to her competition, completely dominating the show and pulling away from the others. Izzy Tait took home top honors as Scotland’s Strongest Woman, standing head and shoulders above the other women at the event.

  1. Izzy Tait — 37 points
  2. Laura Baxter — 32.5 points
  3. Hayley Black — 23 points
  4. Steffi Murray — 20.5 points
  5. Sammy Mayhew — 20.5 points
  6. Anastasia Papas — 17.5 points
  7. Dianne Gaughan — 14.5 points
  8. Rosslyn Cole — 13.5 points

Men’s Event Results

Duck Walk For Time

The first event of the 2023 Scotland’s Strongest Man was the duck walk with a 200-kilogram (440-pound) implement. The course was 60 meters in length with a 75 second time limit.

Second place winner Chris Beetham would be the only man to complete the entire course within the time limit. The other competitors were then ranked based on their longest distance covered.

  • Chris Beetham — 60 meters in 74.59 seconds
  • Callum Crozier — 53 meters
  • Scott Milne — 52.5 meters
  • Stephen Jackson — 49.6 meters
  • Louis Jack — 47.96 meters
  • Leon Patterson — 44.2 meters
  • Robert McMillan — 43.7 meters
  • Connor Monaghan — 43.42 meters.
  • Mikey Wilson — 43.4 meters
  • Liam Goldie — 30.2 meters
  • Lee Walker — 30 meters
  • Peej Greenhough — 27.2 meters

Car Deadlift For Reps

In the Car Deadlift event two athletes at all competed against each other completing as many reps as possible while lifting the car, which weighed 310 KGs (683.4 lbs).

Third place overall winner Callum Crozier would win the event with 14 reps. Scott Milne finished in second with 13 reps, while Louis Jack took third place with 11 reps.

Block Press Medley

In the Block Press Medley athletes had to heft four metal blocks weighing 80-90-100-110 kgs. Only Louis Jack and Chris Beetham were able to lift all four. However, Jack would finish 32 seconds faster than Beetham.

  • Chris Beetham — Four in 74.86 seconds
  • Callum Crozier — Three in 64.14 seconds
  • Peej Greenhough — Two in 26.89 seconds
  • Scott Milne — Two in 34.01 seconds
  • Lee Walker — Two in 37.37 seconds
  • Connor Monaghan — Two in 48.06 seconds
  • Liam Goldie — Two in 75 seconds
  • Stephen Jackson — One in 14.91 seconds
  • Leon Patterson — One in 40.45 seconds
  • Robert McMillan — withdrew

Truck Push

The second to last event at the 2023 Scotland’s Strongest Man was the truck push. The objective was to push and pull the truck weighing 8,000 KG (17,637-pound) up and down a course with a distance of 20 meters. Within a 75 second time limit.

None were able to complete the event. However, Louis Jack covered the most distance with a distance of 31.7 meters. Lee Walker and Chris Beetham battled for second. Walker would narrowly beat out Beetham by a 0.4 meters margin.

Scott Milne and Leon Patterson would both injure their Achilles tendons, forcing them to withdraw.

Atlas Stone Medley

The Atlas Stone Medley was the final event of the 2023 Scotland’s Strongest Man competition. Featuring stones weighing 110-115-130-145-160 kgs, athletes raced to lift them as fast as possible.

Louis Jack would secure his overall victory with an incredible showing in the final event. He finished the event within 21.18 seconds. Chris Beetham, finished 30 seconds later.

  • Callum Crozier — Four in 18.09 seconds
  • Stephen Jackson — Four in 24.06 seconds

  • Peej Greenhough — Three in 23.12 seconds

Women’s Event Results

Duck Walk For Time

Like the men’s competition, the 2023 Scotland’s Strongest Woman began with the Duck Walk. The implement was lighter than the men’s weighing 100 kgs (220 lbs).

2022 champion Laura Baxter, was the only one to complete the entire 60 meter course within the time limit.  Overall winner Izzy Tait came in second, carrying the implement for 53 meters.

Deadlift For Max

The next event saw the women compete in the deadlift for max weight. Izzy Tait would hit a 250 kg max deadlift. Laura Baxter would come in second with a max of 240 kgs.

  • Hayley Black — 200 kilograms
  • Steffi Murray — 200 kilograms
  • Dianne Gaughan — 200 kilograms
  • Rosslyn Cole — 200 kilograms

  • Anastasia Papas — 180 kilograms

Log Lift For Reps

In the third event of the 2023 Scotland’s Strongest Woman competition athletes hefted a 70 kg (154-pound) metal log for as many reps as possible in a 75-second time limit.

Izzy Tait once again dominated in this event, completing 18 reps. Steffi Murray, would complete 11 reps to take second in the event.

  • Dianne Gaughan — 9 reps
  • Sammy Mayhew — 8 reps
  • Laura Baxter — 7 reps (Tied-fifth)
  • Hayley Black — 7 reps (Tied-fifth)

  • Anastasia Papas — No lift

HorneTop Hold For Time

The second to last event at the 2023 Scotland’s Strongest Woman competition was the Hornetop Hold. The women gripped an implement in each hand and held it for as long as possible.

Anastasia Papas one the event with a 90.03 second hold. Izzy Tait finished second in the event with a 61.37 second hold.

  • Laura Baxter — 58.41 seconds
  • Hayley Black — 49.83 seconds
  • Steffi Murray — 48.82 seconds

  • Dianne Gaughan — 18.4 seconds

Atlas Stone Medley

The final event of the women’s division was also an Atlas Stone Medley. The stones were lighter than the men’s weighing in at 70-85-100-115-130 kgs.

Laura Baxter won the final event however it wasn’t enough to surpass Izzy Tait’s dominant lead.

  • Sammy Mayhew — Four in 22.9 seconds
  • Anastasia Papas — Four in 25.11 seconds
  • Hayley Black — Four in 28.29 seconds

  • Dianne Gaughan — Four in 68.49 seconds
  • Rosslyn Cole — Three in 34.6 seconds
