Xinmin Yang uses a combination of workouts and 6-8 eggs each morning to look as young and strong as he can.
There are certain people who just have a different motor and motivation for fitness.
Xinmin Yang, a bodybuilder from China, is one of those people. At 75 years old, Yang continues to train at an extremely high level and has since 1984. Yang claims that he has not missed a workout in over four decades and starts each day with a strict diet that includes 6-8 eggs.
“My goal is maintaining health and anti-aging in order to have energy to do something else.”
Like many bodybuilders, Yang was inspired by Arnold Schwarzenegger. He was one of 38 competitors that took part in China’s first bodybuilding contest in 1983. Yang made his own barbells and dumbbells to prepare for this competition. That is when Yang’s career began and he has gone onto win numerous titles since then.
What Are Xinmin Yang’s Secrets?
It is not easy to maintain a level of fitness and muscularity that Xinmin Yang has displayed at 75 years old. He has shared his secrets with multiple outlets including his diet and exercise plans.
Yang begins his day with 6-8 eggs, tomatoes, cucumbers, oatmeal, and chicken breast. He has followed a fiber and protein-focused diet for over a decade now.
After breakfast, Yang takes part in a morning jog and an hour and a half of strength training.
“When strength training, remember three things. Make sure the movements are standard, build muscle and shed fat, try and improve your balance.”
Arnold Schwarzenegger has studied eggs nd answered important questions about the breakfast food. Eggs have long been one food heavily criticized and studied for nutritional values. Schwarzenegger shared different research about eggs and if they are really harmful or beneficial. Research found that eggs do not increase risk for cardiovascular disease. It also found that eggs are one of the richest natural sources of choline. This is essential for production acetylcholine, which is a neurotransmitter involved in memory, mood, and muscle control.
Xinmin Yang has used eggs, along with other incredible methods, to keep up with his fitness well into his 70s — and he has not plans of slowing down yet.
“Hopefully I can keep training when I’m 80 and then 85. I want to push the limits of the human body.”
