Floyd Mayweather invites Conor McGregor to his gym?!

Well this is unexpected. After competing against each other last August, it seems that Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor could join forces. At least that’s the case if McGregor accepts Mayweather’s invitation to his boxing gym.

A year after their boxing match, many fans, boxing and MMA alike, were wondering if we would see a rematch between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor take place inside the UFC Octagon. Rumors swirled for months as reports of a special rules fight was apparently leaked. But all that has been put to bed now that McGregor is set to do battle with the UFC undisputed lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Since the fights been announced, Conor McGregor has already gone on the offensive, both physical and psychologically. First there was the infamous bus attack earlier this year at UFC 223 and now it seems that McGregor is looking to attack his opponent on a personal level, taking shots at Nurmagomedov, his family and friends on social media.

With the gamesmanship in full swing, Conor McGregor is going to want to be as prepared as possible heading into his bout with the undefeated lightweight champion. The offer by Floyd Mayweather to have his former rival train at his boxing gym can be either taken as a potential insult or a clear sign that the former pound for pound boxer is no longer interested in a rematch with McGregor. It’s now on Conor McGregor and his camp if he actually wants to consider taking Mayweather up on his offer, but knowing the brash and prideful Irishman, it’s extremely unlikely.

Can Conor McGregor defeat Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229?
