Alan Ritchson Breaks Down ‘Intense’ Full-Body Workout: “I Aim For 100 Reps On Bench”

Alan Ritchson shared his full-body workout that helped him build an elite physique.

“Reacher” star Alan Ritchson has impressed many as he built an incredible physique for this role, sporting some great muscle mass and minimal body fat. Ritchson displays incredible size while remaining shredded and dedicated himself in many ways. Recently, Ritchson shared his “intense” full-body workout used.

Ritchson has been featured in other roles that required a good amount of size, such as playing linebacker Thad Castle in Blue Mountain State. Here, Ritchson put together an impressive home gym and dedicated himself to maintaining a strict diet plan that focused on adding muscle and shredding his physique.

Ritchson spoke with Men’s Health breaking down his full-body workout used when he wants an intense day in the gym.

“What I consider an intense workout is when I hit a full-body day as hard as I can.”

Ritchson continued to explain his full workout and methods used when completing different exercises.

Alan Ritchson’s Full-Body Workout 

Alan Ritchson focuses on lower body when taking on this workout. Out of the five exercises, four are hitting legs. The full circuit can be found below:

The number of exercises might not favor upper body but that does not mean that Alan Ritchson neglects chest. In fact, it is quite the opposite.

“On the upper half, I’ll hit chest. My goal is to get to 100 reps of bench. I’ll start on incline and I’ll end on decline, trying to do 225 so heavy weights. I’ll walk that all the way down. If I can get through that, I think I’ve won. It’s tough to get through a full set though.”

Does Alan Ritchson Use PEDs?

Many fans speculate that Alan Ritchson uses performance enhancing drugs to bulk up, and he has opened up about his usage of testosterone replacement therapy, as he was diagnosed with low testosterone. However, this does not take away from the hard work that he puts in with his diet and training regimens.

Ritchson admitted to putting on 35 pounds of muscle for this role and it certainly showed on the screen. He made it a point to get 4,500 calories and 300 grams of protein into his body on a daily basis. Ritchson described this as a “full-time job.”

Alan Ritchson is one of many actors who has been able to transform his physique for a role and he has done it well. The first two seasons of “Reacher” were a massive success, and many fans are anticipating the third season.
