How is alcohol affecting your body?
Too much of anything is never a good thing, so the saying goes. The idea that a few alcoholic beverages doesn’t hurt may be somewhat true if done responsibly. It’s when you drink in excess that you start to do your body real harm. A high quality athlete can’t afford to pump his body full of alcohol. Calories
Alcohol contains nearly twice as many calories as protein and carbohydrates with none of the nutritional benefits. When compared to fat, which has 9 calories per gram, alcohol contains 7 calories per gram. If that isn’t reason enough to slow down on the beer and whiskey, consider that alcohol lacks the benefits of fat which can at least be converted to energy.
