Dear sport, event organizers, sponsors and exhibitors; After extensive meetings with authorities, relating to the Presidents speech and discussions with Arnold and the global partners, the safety of participants and spectators are priority thus we do not have a choice to postpone the ACA till later in the year. We will announce a new date in this week and will be in contact with you to manage this process. Please take care and look after yourself. In sport we stand together!

Though the later date has not yet been revealed, the announcement explains that they plan to have an official new date announced within the week.

This announcement comes after a variety of major gatherings and sporting events have been cancelled including the NBA season, the NCAA championships, major European soccer championships, and more.

Specifically for the sport of bodybuilding, this announcement adds to the growing list of events that have been postponed or cancelled. Including what was to be this weekend’s FitPro in Culver City and of course the aforementioned Arnold Classic Australia and South America competitions.

The coronavirus spread has lead to many restrictions across the world. This has put a major damper on almost all sporting events making for 2020 to be a year that will have an asterisk on sports seasons, championships, and gatherings.

Generation Iron will continue to provide updates as this story develops, as we are likely to see more bodybuilding events cancelled in the coming weeks. Stay tuned to the Generation Iron Fitness Network for bodybuilding updates and news!
