Arnold Schwarzenegger Discusses Distracted Eating

A strong diet is a large part of the battle in bodybuilding, and overall fitness. Athletes make sure to build a balanced diet that provides everything needed during their prep and in the offseason. According to Arnold Schwarzenegger, there are other aspects at play that can impact the experience and digestive health.

“TV dinners might be a great way to unwind, but they can also trick you into eating more than you want. Research suggests that people who eat while watching their favorite shows consume significantly more calories than those who don’t.”

The biggest issue at hand is that distracted eating interferes with the brain-body connection during meals. This means that when watching television, a person might overeat because they are not focused on the meal. Their mind is distracted with the show.

“Distracted eating makes it harder for you to recognize what you’re consuming. This mindless eating means your brain can’t do its job to help you know when you’re full, which can lead to overeating.”

“That’s just the start of the domino effect. Other studies suggest that people who eat while distracted also increase how much they eati n hte next meal by another 25 percent.”

Arnold Schwarzenegger continues to share his newsletter and discuss many aspects in the sport of bodybuilding. This ranges from workouts to tips about diet plans. This time, he spoke on an issue that might not get much attention. Schwarzenegger believes that the best meals are consumed without distractions.
