Arnold Schwarzenegger reveals that he had. pacemaker put in last week.

Arnold Schwarzenegger has kept his fans up to date with his latest tips about fitness and diet habits. The bodybuilding legend continues to be an influential voice in the sport using his daily newsletter, Arnold’s Pump ClubRecently, Schwarzenegger shared another story of his own health, revealing that he underwent surgery to have a pacemaker put in last week.

After coming over from Austria, Schwarzenegger caught eyes because of his insane physique and turned it into a legendary career on stage. On his way to seven Olympia titles, Arnold did great things for the sport of bodybuilding as a whole.

In retirement, Schwarzenegger has prioritized his health in many ways. After his heart surgery in 1997, doctors advised him to stop lifting heavy weights because it would not be good for the valves. This is when he began cutting back on weight but continues to train in the gym on a consistent basis.

“Last Monday, I had surgery to become a little bit more of a machine.”

On Monday, Schwarzenegger shared his latest update with readers.

Arnold Schwarzenegger: “I Got A Pacemaker”

Arnold Schwarzenegger began his message by saying that he wanted to share updates but it goes against his upbringing back home. He also confirmed that he is “doing great” following the operation.

“I have to tell you, just saying this to all of you goes against so much of my upbringing in Austria, where nobody — ever — talked about medical issues. Everything related to healthcare was kept to yourself.

But I’ve gotten so many messages and emails from people who were born with a bicuspid aortic valve, like me, telling me that talking about my valve replacement surgeries has given them courage and hope to deal with their own.”

Schwarzenegger continued to explain his schedule last week and the process of recovering from surgery.

“I had my surgery on Monday, and by Friday, I was already at a big environmental event with my friend and fellow fitness crusader Jane Fonda. By the way, when we talk about exercise being the only magic pill to slow down aging, look at Jane. She’s ten years older than me, turning 87 this year!

Nobody would ever have thought I started the week with a surgery.”

Schwarzenegger has spoken in the past, explaining that this is a genetic issue. He had his valves replaced in 1997 and was told that they would last 12-15 years. Luckily for Arnold, his valves lasted 21 years and he was able to undergo a non-invasive procedure in 2018.

Doctors let Schwarzenegger know when it was time for a pacemaker and that is what happened this year.

“I went in for my normal checkup at the beginning of March on my way to the Arnold Sports Festival, and they did a full series of tests. When I got home to LA, like it was fate, I was talking to one of my best friends.

They told me that they had a pacemaker implanted, it was a quick recovery, and their energy levels were back to what they were used to.”
