Arnold Schwarzenegger Answers if Eggs are the New Superfood

Arnold Schwarzenegger has found answers to some of the most interesting fitness questions.

Bodybuilding legend Arnold Schwarzenegger has been sharing different fitness tips for decades now. He has used his daily newsletter Arnold’s Pump Club to share workouts, diet tips, and research about trending topics. During a recent edition, Schwarzenegger discussed eggs and their benefits.

“For years, eggs were unfairly villianized for their cholesterol — but science has flipped that script. Not only are the dangers misleading, they may be one of the most complete and affordable foods on the planet.”

Eggs have long been one food heavily criticized and studied for nutritional values. Schwarzenegger shared different research about eggs and if they are really harmful or beneficial.

Schwarzenegger has done many things over the years to improve his health, including changing his diet plans. He is also interested in the impact that it has on the environment. He mentions that pollution is a major factor in the United States. Schwarzenegger claims that eating less meat means that less and less forests will be cleared, ultimately creating more food for animals.

Arnold Schwarzenegger Shares Research on Eggs

The bodybuilding legend broke down research from 39 different studies including approximately two million people. It found that eggs do not increase risk for cardiovascular disease.

“They found that intake of up to six eggs per week was protective against cardiovascular disease, rather than harmful. Beyond that, the protective effect appears to plateau, and higher consumption doesn’t provide additional benefits.”

It also found that eggs are one of the richest natural sources of choline. This is essential for production acetylcholine, which is a neurotransmitter involved in memory, mood, and muscle control.

“One egg contains approximately 150 mg of choline, with nearly all of it delivered from the yolk. In other words, about three eggs can help most adults hit the recommended amount.”

Ultimately, eggs are closer to being considered a “superfood” than a potential danger. It is a beneficial part of any meal and can help improve your health in many ways.
