Many have even broken Schwarzenegger’s record of seven Olympia wins. But victories alone don’t qualify you for such status.

Arnold Schwarzenegger has achieved a great deal since retiring from professional bodybuilding. The “Austrian Oak” turned himself into a major box office draw, gaining worldwide fame. He also was Governor of California for a period of time. To go from bodybuilding to acting to politics is no small feat.

Not only did he become a world famous actor, he also established one of the biggest bodybuilding and fitness events in the world. The Arnold Sports Festival has gone global and has given the opportunity to fitness enthusiasts of all ilks to demonstrate their immense abilities.

As Arnold Schwarzenegger turns 73 today we’re reminded that greatness is about never giving up on your dreams, no matter how farfetched they may seem. While it may be time for the next generation to take center stage, we can never forget Schwarzenegger’s contribution to the game.
