Five weeks out from the Arnold Classic Australia, Blessing Awodibu shares an incredible upper arm workout.

Many IFBB pros are filling their fans in on their pre- and post-show physiques. After all, shows only happen for one weekend, but the preparation and hard work that goes into bodybuilding is a 24/7 process. Blessing Awodibu shared an Instagram update with fans about his current workout routine, accompanied with a YouTube video offering greater insight into his process.

The Arnold Classic Australia is just over a month away and Blessing Awodibu is getting down to business. He updated fans on his progress with an Instagram post yesterday, which you can see in full below.

“At 5’11 sitting at 275 pounds flat,” he shared. “We’re bringing size, condition, insane symmetry, aesthetics, presentation and an [sic] highly decorated work of art.”

Blessing’s caption reflects one of the fundamental truths of bodybuilding. It’s not about putting on the most mass in the shortest amount of time. It truly is an art form that involves balancing all the variables to achieve the most aesthetically pleasing result. Even though he’s “flat” at a lower weight, he’s not panicking and packing on the pounds; he understands that the ultimate goal, achieving a truly measured physique, is so much more than that.

In the accompanying video, Blessing shares his workout of the day and how he got such shredded arms. The video is worth watching all the way through since he also gets into his diet and his mindset leading up to the big day. All of those elements come together to build up his incredible physique. Blessing breaks down the carb-heavy, protein-loaded diet he eats leading up to competitions that is different from his usual fare. For anyone looking to bulk up in the coming months, this is definitely a great tip for how to do so. The arm and hamstrings workouts are also impressive for their attention to detail.

Interestingly, Blessing does not rely on a protein-heavy diet at every meal, rather, he rotates into a low-carb meal before every third workout in the evening. This is certainly a unique trick that raises many interesting questions about how to bulk and when. Eating heavy meals definitely helps you gain mass, but it can slow you down in the physical act of exercising, so how to the pros maintain that balance? You can watch the video in full for more detail, but it’s clear Blessing understands how to cycle his nutrition in order to maximize his gains while still maintaining his competitive edge and ability to gain mass.

It will be Blessing Awodibu’s Arnold debut at the Arnold Australia this year, so he’s clearly looking not to waste the opportunity. Or, as Blessing himself put it in his post, “Coach said ‘Blessing you gone hurt a lot of feelings this year.'” He already has two Arnold wins under his belt, so he’s definitely competitive looking at a top five or even top three finish.
