Breon Ansley Reveals This Is His Final Year Competing In Classic Physique

Breon Ansley is looking to make his final season his best one yet.

Breon Ansley is one of the competitors that made Classic Physique what it is today. This is a division that has gained plenty of notice in recent years with some big-time athletes. Recently, Ansley announced that this would be his final year competing in Classic Physique.

Ansley recently appeared at the 2022 Arnold Classic. He finished fourth, which was one spot lower than his finish at the 2021 Olympia in October. Following his finish, Ansley discussed how this was a difficult outcome to handle. It seems as though he has done plenty of thinking following the event.

In an Instagram post, Ansley mentions his plan for the upcoming season. He is 43 years old and is weighing 206 pounds at this point of his preparation. Ansley plans to compete for his this Classic Physique Olympia title in December.

“Checks & Balances here at 206lbs! Natural light is always the most humbling without shadows showing added details and seperation. As this will be my last year in the Classic Division I have a few exciting details to share with you guys on the gameplan that brings us confidence we will contend for the title again!???? #breonansley#MrClassicOlympia“

Terrence Ruffin was crowned Arnold Classic champion for the second consecutive season. He was also second at the Olympia and seems like the biggest threat to reigning three-time champion Chris Bumstead. Ansley also finished behind Urs Kalecinski and Ramon Rocha Queiroz.

Ansley has two Olympia victories coming in 2017 and 2018. This is when his elite status began in Classic Physique. The 2022 Arnold Classic marked the first time since 2016 that Ansley failed to make the podium.

This is not to say that Breon Ansley is done competing for good. He just made it clear that he is done with Classic Physique after the Olympia. There have been talks about Ansley moving to the 212 division for quite some time but he has yet to make the switch. Before any future decision is made, Ansley has some big plans for the upcoming season and it concludes at the Olympia.

Breon Ansley has been a huge name in Classic Physique for years now and it will be interesting to see where he ends up next.
