Chris Bumstead took time to reflect on his performance from Sunday.
The 2024 EVLS Prague Pro is officially in the books. It was one of the most exciting shows of the year because of Chris Bumstead making his debut in Men’s Open.
Bumstead finished as the runner-up to Martin Fitzwater during the event. This was the major battle to watch, along with Shaun Clarida making his return to the division. There was a bit of controversy following the show with many thinking that Bumstead was good enough to win. Nonetheless, he finished second in what could be his final show.
Bumstead took to Instagram on Sunday night to discuss his feelings following the Prague Pro.
“Arguably the most fun I have ever had on stage.”
Bumstead has left the door open on a return to competition but for now, it seems as though he will remain retired.
Chris Bumstead Comments On Performance In Prague
Chris Bumstead has spoken many times about doing an Open show if it was soon after the Olympia. That show happened to be in Prague this year and Bumstead made great strides in a short amount of time to compete in the biggest division.
“My heart is so full of love right now.
I wasn’t sure what I wanted to feel doing this show so life decided to show me.
It truly reminded me why I love this sport so much.”

As a six-time Olympia champion in Classic Physique, Bumstead knows a thing or two about winning when it matters most. Heading into the weekend, there were nerves and he discussed what it was like taking the stage.
“The nerves getting on stage, not in any expectation to win, but from the unknown of what’s to come and the deep desire to show up at my best.
The decision to do something for myself, to challenge myself in a new unknown area knowing the odds are stacked against me. Enjoying the effort and the journey rather than seeking the result.”
Chris Bumstead has been one of the major figures in bodybuilding for years now. If this was truly his last competition, fans got the chance to see him put on size and compete in Prague.
“Thank you to everyone who came to this show the energy was nothing I have ever experienced, you’re amazing Prague.”
