Conor McGregor Shuts Down Floyd Mayweather Goodwill: “**** The Mayweathers”

Conor McGregor responds to Floyd Mayweather and his apparent gesture of goodwill.

And here it seemed like the two were ready to patch things up. Well, it seems that Conor McGregor is having none of it as he sent a pretty clear response to Floyd Mayweather after the boxer offered for UFC star to train at his gym.

While the gesture could have been seen as a kind and thoughtful proposition, it could also be determined that it was one made out of malice. Simply put, Floyd Mayweather could have invited Conor McGregor to his gym not as a sign of goodwill, but as a way to have the brash Irishman admit that he needs some help ahead of his UFC 229 bout against Khabib Nurmagomedov. From what it seems like, Conor McGregor is shutting that whole notion down.

In response to Floyd Mayweather’s gesture, McGregor took to Twitter to address the issue and explain exactly how he feels.

Not one to be out dueled in a war of words, Floyd Mayweather gave a response of his own in an Instagram post.

Could sound crazy, but it sounds like Conor McGregor isn’t quite ready to bury the hatchet with Floyd Mayweather, just a feeling.

As the battle between Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov draws closer, it’s already apparent that the former UFC lightweight and featherweight champion still has unfinished business with Floyd Mayweather. Whether their potential future bout takes place inside a cage or a ring would be a matter of debate, one that could ultimately be fruitless.

Do you think Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather will do battle a second time? Under what rules?
