Strongman Eddie Hall Swaps 8,000 Calorie Diet With His Wife For A Day

Strongman Eddie Hall recently shared a YouTube video with fans documenting his experience switching diets with his wife for one day.

Check out the hilarious video above to see Britain’s Strongest Man Eddie Hall compare diets with his wife and try hers out for a day. The description of the video mentions the often repeated fact that Eddie Hall eats 8,000 calories a day to maintain his bulk and once claimed he eats a full English breakfast every morning followed by a second smaller breakfast of fruits and vegetables.

On the other hand, Eddie’s wife, Alex, is probably following some sort of weight loss program, since her diet is counted in the description as being around 1,200 calories a day. Since the average recommended calorie intake for a healthy woman is 2,000 calories a day — 1,500 calories a day will cause you to lose an average of one pound per week — it’s safe to say that 1,200 calories is a starvation-level eating program even for those among us who are not professional lifters.

First, Eddie orders his classic – a full English breakfast. Sausages, beans, a fried egg and toast are piled high on his plate. He then slides it over to his wife to eat, while he’s left with her breakfast: some scrambled eggs with a side of plantain chips.

By lunch, Eddie is clocking in at 250 calories, while Alex has already had 1,000. Eddie swaps out his protein shakes for a little bit of hydrating drink his wife likes and some strawberries. His wife also has some strawberries and more of the shake. By the end of their lunchtime venture, Eddie is at 350 calories, while Alex is at 2,010.

At a restaurant for supper, both of them have a little bit of hummus and pita to start. Eddie orders a steak and fries, which he then swaps out for his wife’s veggie wrap. Alex is also forced to consume Eddie’s orders of onion rings, green beans, and garlic bread. Eddie leaves the restaurant at 750 calories, while Alex leaves with 4,700.

Alex then eats when Eddie would usually eat and she would have nothing. She has some chips, a sandwich loaded with calories, and an apple, all while Eddie stares hungrily at the meal. Alex hits 5,680 calories, while Eddie remains static at 750.

Finally, at dinner, Alex has a massive helping of curry with peppers. Eddie eats a significantly smaller plate of curry. Alex is struggling to finish it all, even with the help of some more pita. Alex then struggles to hold down a quarter of a cheesecake to finish off the meal, all while Eddie struggles not to pass out, apparently. Finally, to top it all off, Alex forces down yet another veggie wrap while Eddie watches with (sadistic?) laughter. They finish out the day at 1,150 calories for Eddie and 7,780 calories for Alex, respectively.
