Tommy Fury Defeats Strongman Eddie Hall by Decision, One Judge Scores Bout 57-57
Tommy Fury remained unbeaten on Saturday night, but former World’s Strongest Man Eddie Hall may have left Manchester with plenty of new respect after pushing the professional boxer the full six-round distance in their highly anticipated Misfits Boxing main event.
After weeks of bizarre weigh-ins, bodybuilding-style posing, and plenty of trash talk, Fury earned a points victory over Hall in the “Beauty vs. The Beast” showdown at AO Arena in Manchester. The final scorecards read 59-56, 58-56, and 57-57, giving Fury the decision while highlighting just how competitive Hall made portions of the fight.
Tommy Fury Defeats Eddie Hall By Decision
The result itself wasn’t a major surprise. Fury entered the contest with an undefeated professional boxing record and notable crossover victories over Jake Paul and KSI. Hall, meanwhile, was stepping back into the boxing ring after building his reputation as one of the strongest humans ever to walk the planet.
What did surprise many fans was Hall’s ability to remain dangerous throughout the contest.
Despite giving up years of boxing experience, Hall came into the fight weighing more than 100 pounds heavier than Fury. The former World’s Strongest Man tipped the scales at 325.6 pounds compared to Fury’s 217.5 pounds, creating one of the most unusual size disparities seen in a major crossover boxing event.
Hall’s game plan was exactly what most expected: pressure forward, close the distance, and make Fury uncomfortable. Early on, it worked. The massive strongman had moments of success and forced Fury to stay alert whenever the two exchanged at close range.
As the fight progressed, Fury’s boxing experience began to show and he was able to wear down the big man. The younger fighter stayed composed, avoided prolonged exchanges, and used his movement to accumulate points. Hall’s output slowed in the later rounds, allowing Fury to take greater control of the action down the stretch.
Still, the biggest talking point afterward may have been the scorecards. While Fury won unanimously, one judge scored the fight even at 57-57, a result that quickly sparked debate among fans watching the event.
Eddie Hall Continues To Embrace New Challenges
For bodybuilding and strength sports fans, the event served as another reminder that Hall remains willing to test himself in just about any arena. From winning World’s Strongest Man in 2017 to setting deadlift records and competing in combat sports, Hall has repeatedly shown a willingness to step outside his comfort zone.
The build-up to the fight also generated headlines. During Friday’s weigh-ins, Hall and Fury exchanged words before breaking into a playful bodybuilding-style posedown that quickly went viral online. Fury even hit a respectable lat spread next to the towering strongman, prompting one commentator to joke that there were “more muscles on display than Venice Beach here in Manchester.”
That lighthearted moment gave way to a surprisingly competitive fight 24 hours later.
While Fury ultimately got his hand raised, Hall arguably earned something almost as valuable: proof that one of the strongest men in history could hang around long enough to make an undefeated professional boxer work for every round.
