Flex Wheeler Discusses Health, Side Effects Of Amitriptyline: “I’ve Been Shaking So Much”

Flex Wheeler discussed his recent experience being put on a drug called Amitriptyline.

Kenneth Flex Wheeler also known as Flex Wheeler, is a bodybuilding legend that put together one of the best physiques of all-time during his career. He has struggled with his health for years now and has undergone many surgeries and operations for different things. Recently, Wheeler shared a video to Instagram about his experience on a drug called Amitriptyline.

In 2019, Flex Wheeler was hospitalized with blood clots and kidney failure in his translated kidney, that he got in 2003. This led to a partial amputation of his right leg. Over the last two years, Wheeler has battled with COVID-19 and spent time in the hospital to recover.

In December, he shared an update from the hospital after undergoing the third surgery on his left rotator cuff. Wheeler continues to be a popular name in the sport and gives health updates to his fans regularly. Most recently, he spoke on the side effects he felt after being put on a new medication.

Flex Wheeler Discusses Side Effects

Flex Wheeler was prescribed this drug by his doctors. It was supposed to be a cure for Wheeler but it ended up doing more harm than good.

“All of the mental effects that this drug has, I’ve got them. And I’m just so angry, so angry that today’s society, there’s the old saying ‘take two Aspirin and call me in the morning.’ Doctors are saying to try this drug and see if it works for you.”

“Some of the side effects are dry mouth, which I’ve had tremendously. My skin is getting rough. Like I said, just the shaking that I have. Not being able to be quick-witted, my thoughts and things like that.”

In the video, Flex Wheeler urged patients to question doctors on the side effects that they might experience when being put on a new drug. Wheeler used an example of a doctor prescribing a medication that would damage his kidney, despite the doctor knowing that he had a kidney transplant.

Wheeler wants patients to take control when dealing with doctors. Some side effects are serious and Flex Wheeler calls for people to find out what they are.

“You guys need to be diligent and ask your doctor all of the side effects that are possible. A majority of the drugs that I am on, the side effects for them, mine are like ten fold…I just want to tell you to ask the doctors, be diligent. Doctors hate to be questioned. They hate it but I used to be very forceful in asking doctors what the side effects are.”
