Goob Vs Lizzo: Photoshop Hypocrisy? | The Goob Show

Goob breaks down his callout video for Lizzo’s photoshopped posts – and notes the hypocrisy behind it

The latest episode of The Goob Show, hosted by John Dorsey (aka Goob), covered a wide range of heated topics. From defending his stance on the dangers of Kratom 7-OH to weighing in on Joey Swoll’s Hulk Hogan controversy, Goob once again showed that he isn’t afraid to address fan criticism head-on.

Here’s a brief breakdown of the topics covered in this week’s episode:

  • Goob responds to criticism after last week’s Kratom 7-OH episode.
  • The big mistake Goob thinks Joey Swoll made during the Hulk Hogan controversy.
  • Goob vs Lizzo: The problem with modern body positivity.
  • Should slap competitions be banned?
  • Goob explains why he thinks the peptide industry in the USA is about to take a nosedive.

You can watch the full episode of The Goob Show above. Below is a full recap of the episode and Goob’s unfiltered take on each issue.

Responding to Fan Pushback on Kratom 7-OH

One of the most talked-about segments from Goob’s previous episode was his warning about Kratom 7-OH, a concentrated form of the kratom plant that has been gaining popularity. Goob compared its addictive potential to opioids like heroin, sparking a wave of comments from fans who felt he was fear mongering. In this episode, he directly responded to those criticisms.

Comment #1: Kratom 7-OH helps addicts transition off heroin and fentanyl.

Goob rejected this defense, saying that replacing one addictive substance with another isn’t a solution. While some argue that 7-OH can act as a “harm reduction” tool, Goob maintained that it’s still dangerous and should not be portrayed as a safe alternative. “It’s just replacing one problem with another,” he explained.

Comment #2: 7-OH is not as addictive as Goob claims.

Goob previously stated that using 7-OH even once could trigger addiction. A fan challenged that claim, but Goob stood firm. He argued that anyone can research studies showing how 7-OH, like all forms of kratom, binds to opioid receptors in the brain in the same way heroin does. That means the risk of physical addiction is very real.

Comment #3: Goob is a hypocrite because he sells kratom gummies.

Some fans accused Goob of contradicting himself by criticizing 7-OH while profiting from standard kratom products. Goob clarified that he has never been against kratom in its natural form. Regular kratom contains only small, natural amounts of 7-OH. What he opposes is the concentrated, chemically enhanced version being sold as 7-OH. According to Goob, this concentrated product drastically increases potency and danger, making it worthy of being classified as a controlled substance.

Goob’s message was clear: standard kratom and 7-OH are not the same thing. He is not against traditional kratom but warns against the artificially boosted version that he sees as a ticking time bomb for addiction.

Joey Swoll and the Hulk Hogan Controversy

Another hot topic was the recent backlash against fitness influencer Joey Swoll, who came under fire for paying tribute to Hulk Hogan. Critics pointed to Hogan’s problematic past, but Goob thought the outrage was blown out of proportion.

Goob revealed that Joey actually called him for advice. His advice was simple: if Joey’s intentions were genuine and his heart was in the right place, then he didn’t do anything wrong. Paying tribute to a wrestling icon who had an enormous cultural impact was not, in Goob’s eyes, a malicious act.

Instead of ignoring the backlash, Joey initially announced that he would quit social media altogether. He later reversed that decision. Goob described this as a “moment of weakness,” noting that Joey has long had detractors who were waiting for a chance to see him fail. The Hulk Hogan tribute simply gave them more ammunition.

When asked by his co-host Vlad why Joey attracts so much hate, Goob joked that it’s because Joey looks like the stereotypical high school bully. But he quickly added that in reality, Joey is nothing like that and people simply make assumptions based on his appearance.

Goob vs Lizzo Fans: The Body Positivity Debate

Goob also addressed the ongoing feud between his fans and Lizzo’s fanbase. The controversy began when Goob called out Lizzo for allegedly photoshopping her social media images to appear slimmer, which he found hypocritical given her public stance on body positivity.

Goob argued that the current body positivity movement has shifted from self-acceptance to glorifying unhealthy lifestyles. While he made it clear that overweight people should not be treated poorly or dehumanized, he pushed back on the idea that celebrating 300 to 400-pound bodies is “positive.”

In his view, true body positivity should support change, healthier choices, and self-improvement, while still treating overweight individuals with kindness and respect.

Eddie Hall’s Slap Contest Incident

The episode also touched on the controversial world of slap contests, specifically an incident involving strongman Eddie Hall. During a match, Hall delivered a blow that ruptured a YouTuber’s eardrum, possibly causing permanent hearing damage.

Goob acknowledged the risks of slap contests but argued that the participants know what they’re signing up for. “If people want to do dumb stuff, let them,” he said. He pointed out that no one is being forced to compete, so banning the sport would be unnecessary.

Interestingly, Goob admitted that he prefers watching women’s slap contests over men’s. His reasoning? Men often knock each other out with a single slap, but women’s matches tend to last longer, creating a battle of endurance that he finds more entertaining.

FDA Cracking Down on the Peptide Industry

The final major topic of the episode was the increasing regulatory pressure on peptide clinics in the United States. Goob noted that peptides were recently rescheduled as a controlled substance and now many clinics are being raided and shut down.

He described the situation as a “shakedown” orchestrated by the government and pharmaceutical industry. In his view, peptides offered people an alternative outside the traditional medical system, and now that freedom is being cut off.

Goob also predicted that the telehealth industry would face similar scrutiny in the near future. He pointed out that telehealth exploded during the COVID-19 pandemic but has remained largely unregulated. Without proper oversight, he believes scandals are inevitable, and he wouldn’t be surprised to see major telehealth CEOs face criminal charges within the next few years.

Wrap Up

This episode of The Goob Show highlighted exactly why John Dorsey (Goob) has built such a passionate following. Whether he’s taking heat for his stance on Kratom 7-OH, giving advice to Joey Swoll, calling out body positivity hypocrisy, or commenting on government crackdowns, Goob refuses to shy away from controversy.

His central theme this week was consistency: standing his ground when critics push back, refusing to cave to pressure, and always pointing out what he sees as uncomfortable truths. Love him or hate him, Goob continues to make The Goob Show one of the most unfiltered and talked-about podcasts in the fitness and lifestyle space.
