Joey Swoll made public apologies on Tuesday following tribute to the fallen wrestler.
Joey Swoll has built a social media presence around positivity in and out of the gym but recently, there has been a lot of negativity surrounding him.
Last week, Swoll reposted a video of himself in the gym wearing a Hulk Hogan costume to send a tribute to the WWE superstar on the day he passed away. After posting the video, many people were unhappy due to some of Hogan’s actions. After speaking to others and doing research of his own, Swoll deleted the videos and issued an apology.
“I owe my followers, my community, and all of social media an apology. A lot of people expressed how upset and frustrated they were with me that I had posted that. Instead of listening and understanding like I should have, I became defensive.”
On Tuesday afternoon, Swoll shared a video to all of his social media platforms apologizing to those he offended.

Joey Swoll Apologizes for Tribute to Hulk Hogan
Hulk Hogan passed away on Thursday morning after going into cardiac arrest at his home in Florida. There were many tributes to Hogan, including from WWE during an episode of “Monday Night Raw.”
Hogan was initially inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005. He was then removed 10 years later following a scandal involving racist comments made while he was being secretly recorded.
“I didn’t know to the extent of all the horrible things that he had done. Since last night, I have done a lot of research and learned all the horrible, horrible things that man has done.”
Joey Swoll ended the video by mentioning his own platform and how he has given a voice to those who do not have one. He has used his platform on social media for good and to spread positivity.
“I would be a hypocrite if I didn’t hold myself to the same standard. I am still learning, I am still growing, and I promise I will do better.”
Is Joey Swoll Finished on Social Media?
It has been years of building an incredibly positive platform for himself across all social media pages. Swoll has shared many videos speaking for and defending those who did not have the ability to do so.
After recent behaviors from others following his video, Swoll issued another statement on his Instagram story.
“All the good I’ve done, all the people I’ve helped, all for nothing. When I need help, when I need kindness and compassion, NOTHING.”

Since Swoll issued this apology, there have been mixed reviews from commenters. Some do not agree that he should have deleted the videos or apologized at all while others have not accepted his words.
Because of this, Swoll might be taking a break from social media.
“Thank you all for your support. I love you all. I am done with social media.”
