“Lifetime PB 460kg for reps. 15 days out from 510kg WORLD RECORD! Who’s ready for it??”
Bjornsson stepped up to the bar with lifting straps and made two reps look easy. This has set the stage for the Strongman to reset his record once again. Bjornsson has gone from Strongman to boxing and back into powerlifting. Once he made his return, Bjornsson has made waves in his second tenure. He has not participated in many big-name competitions in recent years but could have his eye on returning. Thor is confirmed for the 2025 Rogue Invitational at the end of the year.

Hafthor Bjornsson Announces New World Record Attempt
Bjornsson is scheduled to compete at the 2025 Deadlift World Championships in September. This is where he will look to set a new mark of 510kg (1,124.4lb). By the looks of his recent training sessions, and his previous world record lift, Bjornsson might have plenty in the tank to continue raising the bar.
Bjornsson is one of the all-time great Strongmen and has the deadlift record to prove it. He held the all-time deadlift world record at 501 kilograms (1,104.5 pounds) before breaking his own mark. In 2020, Bjornsson took a break from competition and transitioning into boxing. He went through an impressive physique transformation before returning to powerlifting. After suffering a torn pec, Bjornsson returned to his best form.
Hafthor Bjornsson is a former World’s Strongest Man champion in 2018. He has competed in some of the top events in the sport and raised the trophy. This includes three victories during the Arnold Strongman Classic and five Europe’s Strongest Man victories. He is coming off his 12th victory at the Iceland’s Strongest Man competition.
Bjornsson is still competing at an extremely high level and has shown it off in recent weeks. In September, he will look to continue to make history in powerlifting.
