Jay Cutler Says He Once “Sh*t His Pants” After Eating Too Much Ezekiel Bread During Bodybuilding Prep

Jay Cutler Says He Once “Sh*t His Pants” After Eating Too Much Ezekiel Bread, “Literally in the Car”

Even bodybuilding legends aren’t immune to digestive disasters. During a recent podcast clip, four-time Mr. Olympia champion Jay Cutler shared one of the more hilarious, embarrassing, and messy stories from his competitive years, revealing that he once “shi*t his pants” because of his obsession with Ezekiel bread, after a workout at Gold’s Gym.

Cutler jokingly claimed that he helped popularize Ezekiel bread among bodybuilders during his prime.

“I introduced Ezekiel bread into the bodybuilding industry. I would have seven slices every meal.”

The high-fiber diet eventually caught up with him. Cutler explained that he developed colitis and recalled the moment disaster struck after a back workout.

“I was training back doing T-bar and my stomach… I said, ‘Oh my God, I’m going to sh*t my pants.’”

Unfortunately, he didn’t make it home in time.

“I drove a silver Mercedes and I was leaving Gold’s Gym and I literally in the car…”

The story quickly turned into one of the funniest diet-related tales Cutler has ever shared publicly, with the bodybuilding icon laughing about what happened next.

A Reminder That Even Pro Bodybuilders Can Push Dieting Too Far

While the story is hilarious, it also highlights just how extreme competitive bodybuilding diets can become.

Throughout his career, Cutler has spoken openly about the enormous amount of food he consumed while preparing for the Olympia stage. During his peak years, he routinely ate six to eight meals per day, consuming massive amounts of protein, carbohydrates, and specialty foods to maintain his size.

He’s also discussed the financial cost of staying at the top of the sport, explaining in past interviews that feeding a 270-plus-pound Olympia contender wasn’t cheap, especially long before meal-prep services and sponsorship deals became commonplace.

Ezekiel bread became a staple for many bodybuilders because of its sprouted grains and reputation as a cleaner carbohydrate source. But as Cutler’s story proves, even a food considered “healthy” can become a problem when you’re eating seven slices at every meal.

Jay Cutler Continues to Share Stories From Bodybuilding’s Golden Era

Now retired from competition, Cutler remains one of the most influential voices in bodybuilding. Whether he’s breaking down Olympia prep strategies, discussing the cost of eating like a professional bodybuilder, or telling stories that only a four-time Mr. Olympia could tell, fans continue to tune in for both the education and entertainment.

And if nothing else, Cutler’s Ezekiel bread story serves as a reminder that even the greatest bodybuilders of all time have had a few messy moments on the road to greatness.

Shaky legs don’t always mean you just had a killer squat sesh.
