Jordan Hutchinson is one of the fastest-rising names in professional bodybuilding. Introduced to the gym as a skinny 17-year-old basketball player, he quickly developed a passion for building muscle and sculpting his physique. That early dedication laid the groundwork for his bodybuilding career. Hutchinson made history by winning both the Heavyweight and Overall titles at the 2021 NPC USA Championships, earning his IFBB Pro Card and officially stepping onto the professional stage.

Since turning pro, Hutchinson has made consistent progress in the IFBB ranks. He placed 5th at the 2023 Texas Pro and followed that with an impressive 2024 season, securing 3rd place at the Tampa Pro, 2nd at the Texas Pro, and 5th at the Chicago Pro. His momentum carried into 2025, where he won both the Tampa Pro and Texas Pro, earning his Mr. Olympia qualification. Legendary bodybuilder Jay Cutler has even predicted Hutchinson could be a “top-four threat” at the 2026 Mr. Olympia if he continues to refine his back development.

Jordan Hutchinson’s Workout Routine

As an IFBB Pro, Jordan Hutchinson trains with a balance of volume, intensity, and smart execution. His push day workout focuses on chest, shoulders, and triceps with heavy pressing and isolation movements performed in the 8–12 rep range. His chest routine includes incline Smith machine presses, flat Hammer Strength bench presses, and multiple cable fly variations. For shoulders, Hutchinson relies on incline bench cross-cable side laterals to build width and density. Triceps work includes guillotine presses, dip machines, and high-volume pushdowns.

On leg day, Hutchinson uses a quad-dominant approach. His sessions feature seated leg curls, hack squats, heavy leg presses, extensions, and stiff-leg deadlifts on the Smith machine. Each exercise is pushed to near failure with multiple working sets, often in the 10–20 rep range. He emphasizes progressive overload but is not afraid to use slight body momentum when pushing sets beyond strict form, stating, “Perfect form won’t get you far if the intensity isn’t there.”

This training philosophy has allowed Hutchinson to develop a balanced, stage-ready physique while continuously making improvements season after season.

Jordan Hutchinson’s Diet and Nutrition Plan

Nutrition plays a vital role in Hutchinson’s success as a bodybuilder. During contest prep, he typically eats six structured meals per day, with four of them being carb-free. His staples include lean protein sources like chicken, ground turkey, and shrimp, paired with plenty of vegetables. On carb meals, he incorporates rice and egg whites to fuel his training. This strict approach allowed him to drop from 245 pounds in the offseason to under 200 pounds during prep for competition.

Like many pros, Hutchinson enjoys an indulgent post-show refeed once his prep diet is complete. After one contest, he celebrated with cookies, donuts, pizza, cheesecake, and a massive breakfast of pancakes, bacon, eggs, and home fries. These refeeds not only help replenish glycogen but also give his body and mind a much-needed reset.

In the offseason, Hutchinson takes a more flexible approach, focusing on calorie-dense meals that support muscle growth. One of his signature meals is a 1,000-calorie bodybuilding breakfast consisting of egg-white pancakes, English muffins, bananas, peanut butter, and other high-protein, high-carb foods. His offseason diet typically includes six to seven meals a day, balancing protein, complex carbohydrates, and healthy fats for steady gains.
