The American Powerlifter Julius Maddox continues to lift impressive weight on his quest for a monumental 800lb bench

Julius Maddox has been reaching new heights on the bench press for years now. The MHP powerlifter has been a major advocate for the sport while setting new personal marks for himself. During a recent training session in the United Arab Emirates, Maddox loaded up a barbell with 336kg (737lbs) for a single bench press and made it look effortless on his way to break the world record.

Maddox currently holds the all-time bench press mark, which he set at 782 pounds in February 2021 during the World Raw Powerlifting Federation Hybrid Showdown III. From this moment on, he set his sights on being the first man to bench press 800 pounds raw.

Maddox took on this challenge for the first time back in 2021 at Wrigley Field in Chicago following a game between the Chicago Cubs and Kansas City Royals. He ended with two failed attempts and the world record lived to see another day. This was not the first time that Maddox attempted this lift. In June 2020, Maddox attempted 800 pounds for the first time and ended up suffering a small injury because the bar was misloaded.

Julius Maddox Crushes 737-pound Bench Press

Julius Maddox hit Binousgym in Dubai for the workout and loaded up the bar with insane weight. He laid on the bench and was able to pull off another effortless lift.

Julius Maddox On Danial Zamani: “We Are Not The Same”

One name that has been thrown into the conversation is Danial Zamani, an Iranian lifter who made headlines in 2022 for an unofficial 793-pound gym lift 11 pounds heavier than Maddox’s official record. While some have speculated about a rivalry, Maddox has made it clear that the comparisons don’t hold up.

“We are not the same. His only raw competition bench is at 520lbs. The bench they speak of is a gym lift that was verified to be fake. Z was an equipped lifter, and even as equipped, he’s only recorded at 700lbs. Me, Larry Wheels, CT Fletcher, and Eddie Hall have all offered to pay for him to compete in a real competition here in the U.S. and close to his home country, but he always has an excuse. We are not the same.”

With no real competition in sight, Maddox remains the undisputed king of the raw bench press holding the current record at 782 pounds. His relentless pursuit of 800 pounds isn’t just about setting a record it’s about proving that greatness is built on real numbers, real platforms, and real competition.

Julius Maddox’s Supplement Stack: The Key To His Record Breaking Strength

Julius Maddox is a powerhouse in the world of powerlifting, known for his mind-blowing bench press strength and relentless pursuit of new personal records. As one of the strongest lifters on the planet, Maddox relies on intense training, proper recovery, and a dialed-in nutrition plan to keep pushing past his limits.

But one major factor behind his success? A strategic supplement stack that fuels his explosive power, endurance, and recovery. “When you are pushing your muscles to the limit, recovery iskey. Without proper recovery you will never make the maximum gains. Your body has to be fully recovered for next your workouts. “says Maddox. Maddox trusts MHP Hyper Crush Pre-Workout, MHP Dark Matter, and MHP Probolic-SR Protein to give him the edge he needs in the gym and on the platform.

Before hitting a heavy bench session, Maddox fuels up with MHP Hyper Crush Pre-Workout, a high-stim formula packed with caffeine and nootropics such as huperzine and N-acetyl L-tyrosine to boost energy and focus, Lifting heavy starts in the mind so you have to be not just amped-up but laser focused.

Hyper Crush also has creatine, betaine and beta alanine to increase muscle power and endurance. One key feature that separates Hyper Crush from other pre-workouts is its ability to reduce muscle fatigue with AKG and calcium lactate. By delaying muscle fatigue, it allows for increased workload capacity and time under tension. It’s this increased workload and time under tension that helps you break through plateaus to make gains in muscle size and strength. When you’re handling world-record-level weight, you need to push yourself to the limit—and Hyper Crush delivers exactly that.

A tired muscle is a weak muscle, and MHP HYPER CRUSH Pre-Workout delivers extreme energy, amazing pumps, more muscle power, and combats muscle fatigue with potent levels of clinically researched ingredients.

Post-workout, Maddox shifts his focus to recovery with MHP Dark Matter, an advanced carb, amino acid, creatine and protein matrix designed to replenish glycogen stores and kickstart muscle repair. Training at extreme intensity levels depletes the body’s resources of glycogen and ATP fast, but Dark Matter’s fast-absorbing formula ensures he gets the nutrients he needs to recover and grow.

Even though Dark Matter is typically used for post-workout, Julius also likes to drink Dark Matter during his workouts, The continual replenishment of carbs, protein, amino acids and creatine while he is working out ensures he is running on full and not on reserve. This is key for Maddox, as recovery is just as crucial as the lifts themselves when aiming for record-breaking performances.

To round out his nutrition, Maddox incorporates MHP Probolic-SR Protein, a sustained-release protein blend that delivers a steady stream of amino acids for up to 8 hours. This clinically tested protein blend has been shown to out perform whey protein for enhanced recovery. With his massive size and strength demands, maintaining muscle protein synthesis is essential, and Probolic-SR ensures his muscles are constantly fed, preventing catabolism and promoting muscle growth. Whether he’s training or resting, this protein keeps him anabolic around the clock.

For a lifter chasing all-time world records, every detail matters—training, recovery, and supplementation. By stacking MHP’s Hyper Crush, Dark Matter, and Probolic-SR, Julius Maddox ensures he’s always performing at his peak, recovering efficiently, and building the kind of strength that dominates the sport. If you’re serious about lifting bigger, recovering faster, and taking your training to the next level, following Maddox’s supplement strategy might just be the key to unlocking your own PRs.
