LET US NEVER FORGET: KEVIN LEVRONE

generation ironThe Maryland Muscle Machine was truly one of the greats.

Kevin Levrone is a true icon of bodybuilding. The man has won his fair share of titles through the years and showed what a competitor with great conditioning, coupled with a powerful physique could pull off on the posing stage. Despite that, he was never able to capture the coveted title of Mr. Olympia, which is to this day considered travesty. As talented as he was sometimes it just doesn’t translate into big wins.

Nevertheless, Levrone was a truly talented bodybuilder who should be held in high regard. He competed in the era of Dorian Yates, Flex Wheeler, Shawn Ray, and the man considered to be the greatest bodybuilder of all time, Ronny Coleman. Those are a list of heavy hitters that could’ve closed the show on any talented bodybuilder’s dreams of grandeur. Despite their raw talent, Levrone was able to hold his own against them and even came close to beating out Dorian Yates and Coleman for the Mr. Olympia title.

Levrone was no push over and he brought an energy to his posing routine that few could match. Take a look at this throwback video from the 1995 Mr. Olympia competition and tell us the man didn’t have the potential to take home the bronze Sandow.
