Featured Athletes

These four athletes came fresh off competing at World’s Strongest Man and once again competed against each other for the title at the Mammoth Strength Challenge V.

Trey Mitchell

Trey Mitchell

Earning his pro card in 2017, Mitchell was able to claim four top-two finishes in 5 events at the Strongman Corporation Nationals to give him his pro card and the chance to compete against the pros. Since his pro debut, Mitchell has won America’s Strongest Man, placed second at Giants Live North America, and has made the final at his first appearance at World’s Strongest Man. Ready to take on many challengers at this event, he showed up in his trademark cowboy hat ready to lock horns with the entire roster.

Bobby Thompson

The massive Virginian Thompson was another athlete to watch this weekend for he has packed on the muscle over the years and anything now seems possible for his titanic strength. He was locked into this competition making him dangerous and one to not sleep on. Nicknamed “The American Nightmare”, this strongman’s pre-event gaze is one to put shivers down your spine and once that whistle blows, it is game on. He is nearly always the first to push, pull, grab, and fight with zero concern for anything other than a win. Thompson has great pure pressing power, particularly with logs and axles.

Gabriel Pena

Gabriel Pena

This 2019 American Super Heavyweight National Champion was hailed as a pro prospect a year prior to this incredible victory. However, a string of injuries set him back slightly from a faster shot at the pros. Pena brings the fire of a thousand hells with him to the competitive field. His youth, the road blocks he’s overcome to get his chance at the pro ranks, and his passion for strength all combine to give us an athlete with a burning desire to succeed.

Wesley Clayborn

Clayborn holds the American record in the Atlas Stone load at a whopping 565 pounds, exceeding the previous set by Brian Shaw. Only Tom Stoltman has surpassed him on the world stage. Clayborn holds the world record for the Keg Load and was, until quite recently, the most underrated strongman. With serious strength and a will to be the best, Clayborn is a threat to all competitors and cannot be overlooked.
