DMX has passed away at age 50.
One of the most influential music artists of the past 30 years has past away. After suffering a heart attack last week, things looked grim for DMX. While numerous reports indicated that he may possibly make a recovery, others were less encouraging. Sadly it appears that the iconic rapper has passed away at the age of 50.
Collaborating with many other iconic rappers like Method Man and Busta Rhymes, DMX carved out his own place in hip hop. His unique voice and style are instantly recognizable to fans of the genre.
Known for his rugged and raw style of rapping, DMX was a staple in the late 90s, early 2000s hip hop scene. The rapper also starred in a number of a films including his debut in the underground hit Belly. He appeared in the popular Jet Li and Aaliyah film Romeo Must Die. He would also star with Steven Seagal in the action crime film Exit Wounds and eventually opposite Jet Li in Cradle 2 The Grave.
DMX was a complicated figure with his share of hardships and run ins with the law. But despite all of that he had cultivated a dedicated fanbase who still supported the rapper through good and rough times.
An Iconic and Motivational Voice in Music
Possessing one of the most unique styles of rapping in the game, DMX could jump onto a track and immediately make it iconic. Many athletes, including bodybuilders, boxers, powerlifters, mixed martial artists, you name it, have been motivated by at least one of DMX’s tracks. It’s hard not to get fired up when you hear one of the many songs infused with grit and raw energy from the legend.
